Date Nut Bread

- 30 Dates
- 3/4 cups Water
- 1/2 cup Brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Butter
- 1 & 3/4 cup Flour
- 3/4 teaspoons Salt
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1/2 cup Walnut
- 1 Egg
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350F. Butter and flour a 4"x8" bread pan.

Boil water and chop walnuts and pitted dates to desired texture (usually 1/2 to 1/4 pieces for dates, medium chop for walnuts).

Combine dates, sugar, boiling water and butter in a medium sized bowl.

In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda.

Add date mixture to the dry mixture. Beat in egg and vanilla extract. Add walnuts.

Pour mixture into bread pan, and bake at 350F in the oven for one hour.

Remove from oven and let cool. Serve with tea. Then at dinner. Then at breakfast...
