German Chocolate Cake Frosting

7 ingredients

  • 1/2 pound Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Milk (evaporated)
  • 3 Egg yolks
  • 1 and 1/2 cup Coconut (shredded)
  • 1 cup Pecans (chopped)

4 steps

  1. Combine evaporated milk, sugar, and vanilla in a saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until thick (~12 minutes)
  2. Beat with mixer for five minutes.
  3. Chill.
  4. Add coconut and chopped pecans (or walnuts)
