- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Bran flakes
- 1/2 cup Shortening
- 1 cup Brown sugar
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 2 cups Buttermilk
- 2 and 1/2 cups Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 2 and 1/2 teaspoons Baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 2 cups Raisin bran
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Boil water

Pour boiling water over flakes; let stand

Mix shortening and sugars

Add eggs, milk and vanilla.

Sift dry ingredients, then add to others and mix.

Store everything in closed container in the fridge. Bake in greased tins at 400F for 20 minutes.
