Prep time: 3 hrs
Cook time: 45 mins
Rest time: none
10 ingredients
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoon Yeast
- 3/8 cups Water
- 3/4 cups Milk
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 3 and 1/2 cups Flour
- 3 cups Walnut
- 1/3 cup Honey
7 steps
-
In a mixer, mix 1 and 1/2 teaspoon yeast, 1/4 cup warm water, 3/4 cup warm milk, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 beaten egg, and 1/4 cup soft butter.
-
Slowly add flour to the mix, and let it knead in mixer.
-
Let rise until double.
-
In a separate bowl, mix the filling: 3 cups walnuts (2 cups packed), 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/8 cup water, 1/3 cup honey.
-
After the dough has risen and the filling is made, divide dough into 2 parts and roll into 10" strips.
-
Spread nut mixture on each strip. Roll each and put next to each other in well greased pan. (aluminum foil in pan is good idea)
-
Let it rise 30-45 minutes, and bake at 325 F for 40 to 45 minutes. Don't let it get too brown (can turn down temp). Must be at least 35 minutes.
