Breads & Rolls - makes 20 servings
Prep time: 20 mins
Cook time: 15 mins
Rest time: 2 hrs
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 5-7 cups Flour
- 1 Egg
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 and 1/2 cup Water
- 1 tablespoon Yeast
Mix yeast and warm water (115 F).
Add sugar, oil, egg, and 2 cups flour. Mix again.
Add salt, and 3-5 more cups flour.
Beat down the dough then let rise in warm place until double its original size.
Knead and beat it back down, and shape into rolls to rise (20 minutes to 2 hours).
Bake at 350 F for 15 minutes.
Alternatively, roll little balls in butter for rolls used at Thanksgiving and put in muffin tins to rise.
To make pizza dough instead, reduce sugar to 1 teaspoon, skip the first rise and punch down.
