  • 2 cups Cottage cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Flour
  • 1 cup Onion
  • 2 cups Mozzarella
  • 2 pounds Spinach (fresh)
  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Basil
  • 5 Eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon Oregano

13 steps

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  2. Cook spinach and drain.
  3. Chop onions, then cook. Add to other ingredients & spinach.
  4. To assemble: you need 1 recipe of Grandma Anne's Strudel Dough + 1/2 pound melted butter.
  5. Get as many sheets of dough as you can (at least 18 sheets the same size as your pan)
  6. Spread some melted butter in a 13" x 9" pan.
  7. Place a sheet of dough in pan (should be a little larger than the pan) and brush with butter.
  8. Keep layers coming (and butter each layer) until you've got 6-8 layers.
  9. Spread on half the filling.
  10. Do the other layer with 8 or so leaves, buttering each layer.
  11. Spread with other half of filling and tuck any dough hanging over into the corners.
  12. Pile as many more leaves and butter as will hold.
  13. Bake for 45 minutes at 375 F.
